Questions parents ask

What should my child bring to camp?

A water bottle, swimsuit and towel, comfortable clothes and athletic shoes, sunscreen and a hat, plus lunch and snacks. Any extra items for a given week are listed in that week's camp schedule.

What does a typical camp day look like?

Camp is open 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., with activities from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Field trips and sports happen in the mornings. Afternoons are for swimming lessons four days a week and gymnastics lessons two days a week.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch isn't provided daily, so pack a lunch, snacks and a water bottle each day. Free pizza Fridays are included; details are in the weekly schedules.

How do campers get to field trips?

Campers go on foot, by bicycle, or in Mountain Kids vehicles driven by our staff. Vehicles leave at the scheduled time, so campers need to be on time. If a camper misses the vehicle, the family needs to arrange a ride to the activity.

How many weeks of camp do we need to sign up for?

Summer camp has a four-week minimum, and you choose which weeks. Each week can be full time (4–5 days) or part time (any 3 days). The four-week minimum is still charged if a week is dropped.

How do I register for summer camp?

Registration opens to the public in early February and is done in person at Mountain Kids. Returning families can download the registration packet and bring it to the office. New families should first fill out the new-family form online to set up an account, then bring in the packet.

Do you offer winter-break camp?

Yes. Mountain Kids runs winter break camps for ages 5–12 with similar age-appropriate programming. Call the front office at 970-482-3118 for this year's dates.

“Our kids have been going to MK for two years and I can’t possibly say enough good things about our experience here. Our daughters, 7 and 9, have grown so much in their gymnastics program. Our living room and backyard has turned into a gymnasium … Love this place so much!”
